Wrap-Up of the First Annual Chicago Baby Show + Best Baby Products

Author:

Last month my daughter and I had a wonderful opportunity to attend the first annual Chicago Baby Show held at Navy Pier. I must say this was by far one of my most favorite events to attend this year. It was all things baby together in one room and I swear my ovaries did a somersault. We left the hubby and little guy at home so we could spend the day browsing and testing as many products as we wanted without them getting bored.

That was probably for the best because we literally spent hours at the show talking and getting to know a lot of the vendors. There were so many amazing products on site, but I was finally able to narrow it down to my top favorite three choices from the Chicago Baby Show.

My top three choices are from experience. Since I am a mom of two, and most recently a little toddler. These are my suggestions for what I think will make motherhood a little easier during the first year.

Chicago Baby Show Best Three Products For Baby’s First Year

NoseFrida (The SnotSucker): Say what you like, I want it. My son has allergies and he always has a runny nose. I saw this thing when I was pregnant and was hesitant to get it because to be honest, I thought it was a little gross, but after seeing it at the show I truly wish I would have gotten it. Nose Frida the snot sucker is an easy, natural way to keep baby snot free. Just use your own suction to draw mucus out of the baby’s nose. The disposable filters prevent any bacterial transfer from actually going into your mouth.  It is risk-free, more effective than a bulb aspirator and easy to clean. The woman says I can use it on my toddler son so I may purchase one soon.

Crane Humidifiers: Another one that new moms will love to have by their bedside. Crane Humidifiers are so adorable. Trust me most babies at some point may need additional humidity.Crane Humidifiers cool mist increases moisture into the air for easier breathing and a good night’s sleep. The humidifier helps to relieve a cough, cold and flu symptoms, nasal congestion, dry cough, sinus irritation, nose bleeds, dry skin and hair. Check out my brief interview with Crane while at the show.

LILLE Baby Carriers: When my son was a newborn he wanted to be held all the time. The reason these carriers caught my eyes was that my son at almost three years old likes to be carried now. These carriers go up to 75 pounds. Yes, you heard me right, if you have a toddler or older child that loves to be carried this is the perfect carrier for him or her.  The designs are gorgeous and it is very well structured.

These are by no means my only loves from the show, but for any new moms starting out, I suggest putting these on your baby shower list right along with your car seat, stroller and diaper bag.

Also, check out my on spot interview with Mouse and Magpie. I loved their room decor.

The event was amazing and if you were not able to attend this year I hope that you are able to make it next year.

As always I encourage you to subscribe to my newsletter so you can be the first to know about events like these and more.

  1. I went to a local baby shower event like this and it was nice. I wish I had known about things like this when I was a new mom.

  2. This looks like it was a great event. What an informative post! That snot sucker sounds life changing!

  3. Oh my gosh, I wanted to go SO bad but we already had plans that day and I couldn’t get a sitter change.
Love all those cool products. I really love the baby carrier idea, especially having a 1 year old right now. Love that you were able to attend with your daughter.

  4. I wish they’d had an event like this back when I was pregnant years ago. It would have been so helpful. These products sound great.

  5. I’m expecting my first baby and I’m so new when it comes to all of these! Some women have like an instinct that they know what they need, I honestly have no clue of what to buy and what not to buy!

  6. I’m sure you had fun! I have a toddler as well, and like always, there are definitely a few items that I wish I had when she was younger. For instance, I would have LOVED to have a baby carrier. However, the LILLE Baby Carrier is the first one I’ve heard of that goes up to 75 pounds. That’s awesome!
