Quick Chocolate Chip Cookies From Cake Mix Easy and Fun For Kids

Author:

Chocolate chip cookies are my favorites. These cookies are so simple and easy to make. Of course, I know how to bake cookies from scratch using, sugar, flour, and all that jazz. But this recipe is all about spending time with the kids and finding a fast delicious alternative to making completely homemade cookies. Try making quick chocolate chip cookies from cake mix. It gives little kids a chance to learn about baking and busy moms a chance to slow down and enjoy the goodness of warm baked cookies.

I searched the internet looking for simple cookies to bake with the kids. This recipe requires one box of cake mix and your patience to work with your kids. Feel free to add whatever ingredients you like, but the base is the same, cake mix.  We used Pillsbury Yellow Cake Mix and chose chocolate chips as our add-in.

When I say the recipe is simple, you can do this with any child that is old enough to stand alone and stir a bowl. My son is two years old and he did an excellent job following directions.

Cooking is about having fun and learning. My daughter is older and she knows how to bake very well, but this gives us a time to bond, talk about measuring liquids, versus dry goods and more than anything we get to make a little mess and laugh. At the end of it all, the kids will have a great chocolate chip creation that they can be proud of, share with others, and a chance to eat their own work.
