Spruce Up Your Bedroom Decor On A Budget

Author:

Warmer weather not only brings the need for a change of wardrobe, in my home, it usually brings along a change of decor, and you start to hit the furniture shops for some inspiration!

If you love the feel of Spring and Summer you can spread that feeling throughout your home. To make your mood brighter you need to feel the warmth throughout your entire home. To brighten my mood I like to make sure I am getting the best value for money I can. A friend recommended me Simply Switch and they got me such a great quote! I saved so much money!

One of the main places you can start with to brighten your day is to freshen the decor in your bedroom. By starting with your bedroom, your mood will be more positive. Adding flowers, pastels and brighter colors are the easiest and cheapest way to update your decor. For some people, their bedroom is the most important room in the house as this may be where they like to spend the majority of their time. And by redecorating it with alternative materials, like this marble wallpaper, could be the perfect way to help heighten your mood. And you don’t even have to spend that much as it is simple to spruce up your bedroom decor on a budget.

Do you want to update your bedroom decor on a budget? I must admit I like to change my decor often and with that, the expense can catch you off guard you, however, Dollar General has a great home decor section that I recently visited to bring some color to our home. My small decor update only cost me $107.

**This is a sponsored post with Dollar General, however, all opinions are my own.

I think the lack of accessories and the dark gray and brown were making it feel dull. We have been busy updating and fixing the new house that we have left this room to last.

The biggest updates I did was getting new bedding and adding curtains to the windows. It feels good knowing everything on my bed is new and clean after spending way too much time deciding if I wanted a Leesa or a casper mattress the other day! I really wanted to add blackout curtains so that we are not disturbed by the morning sun. While I love the morning sun, I need to sleep a little later on my weekend mornings. Our lives are so structured around working and family time so those weekend mornings are left for peaceful sleeping. Whenever I can get the little guy to sleep a little longer I like to catch a little more shut-eye.

To be honest the hardest part of this mini makeover were the curtains. The way that our window is cut in the corner leaves not many options for curtains rod. These curtains are thick with an incorporated energy-saving blackout panel to reduce the heat and cold while blacking out 99% of light. As you can see I didn’t have to sacrifice quality or style for these. You can really change and up your bedroom decor on a budget without breaking the bank.

New bedding is the cheapest and easiest way to transition your room from colder months decor to the bright upbeat colors of the Spring/Summer seasons. People sometimes overspend when it comes to redecorating, but you can spruce up any areas of your home with a small budget.
Your bed should be the best part of your room. Therefore, refreshing your bedding will have the greatest impact on your room makeover. The entire idea of matching your decor to the colors of the season is to lift your mood. Your bedding should be cozy, comfortable and just right for you. This is why it is important to purchase new sheets and pillowcases. My bedding set came with a sheet set, 2 pillowcases, and 2 pillow shams, so right out of the bag, my room started to look different.
Above the bed, I decided to hang our wedding photo. If you remember a couple of years ago I have our wedding photo changed into a metal print. It has taken me this long to hang the picture, but after finally getting it up, it brings another cozy addition to the room.

Keep Your Bedroom Decor On A Budget Makeover Simple

I love keeping things simple and not overdoing it in any place in my home. I’m loving my simple hydrangeas in the wooden vase. The vase is a hand me down from my mother-in-law and the hydrangeas were a great find in the floral section of Dollar General. I added two bouquets and the bright white bought life to the vase. Hydrangeas are my favorite flower. They were my wedding flowers so to add them to the room, just brings on a special touch. These flowers are definitely going to bring a sweet vibe for the upcoming summer months.
Lighting was my final focus. Lighting in your bedroom is crucial to meeting your exact needs. The old lamp on the side table was not working well for me. Your bedroom needs to be a place where you can relax or cuddle up and dream together. I opted for this little Eiffel tower table inspired lamp for relaxing in the evenings after a long day. The lamp fixture with shade was $12! I just love how I have laid in my bed with a good book and glass of wine.
So there you have it, my mini bedroom makeover. I still have things I want to add, but overall this will definitely lift my mood and made my room feel homier.
