Last week we had the opportunity to review The Star, which is now available on digital download and Blu-ray. Originally I was super excited to watch this movie because I’d heard so much about it, but then as I watched it I realized it wasn’t quite my movie style. I’ll share more a little later.

About The Star Movie Review

The heartwarming animated comedy follows a small but brave donkey named Bo who yearns for a life beyond his daily grind at the village mill. One day he finds the courage to break free and finally goes on the adventure of his dreams. On his journey, he teams up with Ruth, a lovable sheep who has lost her flock and Dave a dove with lofty aspirations, along with three wisecracking camels. Bo and his new friends follow the star and become accidental heroes in the greatest story ever told.

Now that you have an idea of what the movie is about, let me share my honest opinion. I didn’t like it. I know it’s sad, it was supposed to be great and it just didn’t do it for me.

To break it down, the movie is a tale of the first Christmas and the birth of Jesus. I admit there were some moments that I thought were funny, but overall I was just a little bored, My son, on the other hand, thought it was hilarious.

The movie is funny so you will definitely have a chance to laugh a little and the music is great. Overall it wasn’t a movie for me, but it is something that I think all kids will enjoy. For The Star movie review, I would give it thumbs because anything that makes my kid happy, makes me happy. The Star is available on Blu-Ray now.
